Dimensions vary walk in closet dimensions. Unlike other areas of the house, building codes are not set standards for depth and width of the closet. Although some coat hangers are 14 “long Hangar, sold most 19″ long.
If you keep your winter clothes closets should be at least 30 inches deep. Up to 30 inches is probably not enough because a large number of bars are 12 inches from the back wall.
If you do not have clothes that are very thick cabinets 24 inches deep would be sufficient. For some items, the cabinets 22 inches deep would be good too. But for some people that may be too superficial.
Other designers use a different box size. Some are cabinet 27 inches from front to back and 40 inches minimum.
Planning required
